Cooking is a fine balancing of materials, recipes, processes, time and quantity. Quantity is the most mis- understood idea while eating. We tend to over eat, resulting in bad digestion, weight gain.


Long ago monks discovered a fine method to balance digestion. They carried the bowl asking for food, door to door. The bowl was of the size of their palm. The volume of the bowl was equal to their stomach's digestible capacity. Any variety of food was ok until taken in the right quantity of the bowls capacity.
